Discouraged?

It seems many I know have been discouraged recently including myself. I believe that we are in a spiritual war. Because we are in a spiritual war we need to be aware that the enemy will be attacking. Satan does not want you to succeed and he has been around the block a few times. Because of this we must pursue God so that we are resting completely in Him.

As we pursue God's calling in our lives let's make sure we are aware the enemy wants us to be discouraged. So be encouraged that you are heading in the right direction and use the discouragment you feel as motivation to pursue Jesus who will help you to defeat that discouragement.

Discouragement also sets in when we are identifying ourselves in something other than Jesus Christ. The more our identity is in Jesus the less the difficulties of life bother us. When we completely trust in Jesus we know he will take care of us.

Jesus' comments sum it up below:

Matthew 11:28-30

28"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."
